Sustainable Agriculture Funding

It is estimated that each American Farmer is responsible for feeding 155 people.  http://www.suite101.com/content/american-family-farmers-feeds-155-people-each-2-americans-farm-a231011

Farmers take their responsibility very seriously, and it is in the best interest of all people to help our farmers establish and maintain agricultural sustainability for our future well-being.

Sustainable agriculture farm grant funding sources are constantly changing and evolving.   Funding is available for such purposes as:

  • Farm Expansion
  • Organic Transition
  • Education and Outreach
  • Farm Production Improvements
  • Environmental Improvements
  • Renewable Energy Development
  • Energy Efficiency Improvements
  • Value-added Product Development
  • And much more

In addition to local and private farm grant funding and assistance sources, the following public agencies have taken the lead in this area for Wisconsin Farmers:

USDA

The US Department of Agriculture offers Rural Business Enterprise Grants for financing and developing small and emerging private businesses with less than $1 million in revenues, and which will have fewer than 50 new employees. There is no maximum dollar limit for any one project. Funds can be used for technical assistance, revolving loan program, incubator/industrial buildings, and industrial park improvements.

WEN provides seamless access to the statewide network of entrepreneurial resources and expertise to create new ventures; help grow existing business; and move forward high potential entrepreneurs to enable Wisconsin to be competitive in a global economic environment. WEN is an initiative of the Governor’s Grow Wisconsin Plan and ACT 255.
